May 2021 Homeward Bound
Happy Mother’s Day!!
What makes Mother’s Day such a special occasion all over the world? It is a very special day for very special people. It’s challenging for many of us as we celebrate this Mother’s Day for a 2nd year in a row in isolation, not able to gather as a complete family. For my family with siblings and our mother, we haven’t sat down together all of us for a meal or a get together since late 2020.
Just about every caring Mother is a Wise Woman. I can see why we carve out a special day each year to acknowledge Moms. For those whose mother is no longer with us, may you remember the best about them. There are also many who never knew their mother due to unfortunate circumstance. We can celebrate this Mother’s Day knowing Moms both here and no longer here are special in more ways than we can count. Wishing you all a Happy Mother’s Day!!
Not only do mothers symbolize unconditional love, they also serve without expecting anything in return. Moms are the first ones to wake up taking care of everyone else and putting their kids’ need s first!
As a working Mom myself, and in my personal growth, I’ve come to realize that we can all learn to live like a Mother whether we have our own children or not. If we live our life with an aim to serve and to light up someone’s life everyday, how our life will become even more deeply fulfilling and rewarding?! I’ve learned that my life isn’t just about me and my son Justin. It’s also about serving my clients, team members, and touching someone’s life everyday. This is why I decided to contribute a portion of my income and time to my sponsor kids in Vietnam with Plan Canada and as an active volunteer with The Mississauga Food Bank.
Intend to serve. Set an intention to serve people. Make your life more than just about you.
When you wake up each morning, ask yourself: How will I light up someone’s life today? Who can I serve today? How can I help make a difference today?
